1 John 5:14-15 – New International Version “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.”
Our petitions to God are powerful but even when Jesus was deeply troubled and asked His Father to let the cup (the cross) be taken from him, he quickly followed with ‘not mine but thine will be done.’ Jesus knew His Fathers will and was obedient. God always hears but we must ask according to His will. How do we know his will? Read His-story – the Bible which is History. The book of John and Acts thru Romans are great places to begin.
