#Science claims oceans slow #climatechange #globalwarming Should we enhance this effect? #malevolenttide is a message to #christians

Science of today claims that Oceans playing Central Role in Global Warming Hiatus

If we could enhance the thermal conductance of the ocean, we would theoretically be able to cool the Gulf Stream that warms Western Europe and affects the western hemisphere’s weather patterns.

But like Michael Crichton’s question posed in Jurassic Park, the ability to do something does mean it’s the right thing to do.

If you’ve read my posts Is there a Biblical Case for Climate Change? and From Darwin’s idea to Galton’s Eugenics to Hitler’s Holocaust you can hopeful understand the potential for a potential cure to actually become a curse.

If spiritual wickedness in high places is always looking for a way to destroy us and all of God’s creation, all it really takes is one evil person with the money and desire to twist a good thing into a horrific thing.

Today the world is arguing over whether it’s real and whether humans are a cause and whether we should curb emissions of greenhouse gases. But what about the future, when those debates are over and a radical, deep ecology extremist acquires the means to take matters into his own hands. Or when the UN decides for the sake of the planet, that it will begin weather and climate manipulation. And, what about the greenhouse gases humans expel from their own bodies?

Considering the world kills millions of unborn babies every year out of personal convenience and euthanasia is becoming more accepted worldwide, how easy would it be for the powers-that-be to extend that logic to poor overpopulated nations?

Think this is far-fetched and can’t happen? Read about eugenics and read about Hitler’s plan to create a super race. And it’s no coincidence that Hitler just happened to try and exterminate the Jewish people. His evil was just a manifestation of a spiritual evil that has been roaming the earth since it was cast down from Heaven.

Over three-quarters of America claims to to be believers in Christ and 42% (150 million people) have a Biblical worldview of creation (everything created per Genesis in the last 10,000 years). It’s no wonder ICR.org and answersingenesis.com and the http://creationmuseum.org are supported by thousands and have hundreds of PhDs in science that support creation research.

But, Christians as a group are sheep led to the slaughter. We have done great things though and currently the three largest disaster relief organizations are based and founded on Christ – The Red Cross, The Salvation Army, and the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief.

Christians should not feel compelled to deny climate change simply because democrats promote it but rather should argue that “the Bible told you so” because the literal Genesis view of creation and a 10,000 year-old earth fits the fossil record and the drastic shifts in climate and geology (earthquakes and tsunamis) better than secular uniformatarianism. In fact, the late Stephen Jay Gould, an outspoken athiest and paleontologist had to come up with the theory of punctuated equlibrium to explan how species sporadically appear and disapper in the fossil record, which goes against secular uniformatarian theory which is the foundation of geology, geography, and evolutionary theory.

What’s this all mean? Christians – true, authentic Christians – have the ability to discern good from evil and we are required by the Bible to use that gift to love our neighbor as ourselves. So when it comes to societal decisions and caring for God’s creation, Christians need to point out what others can’t see. If we don’t, we can be sure that history’s nightmares will repeat because there is an enemy who never sleeps and only lies, deceives, and destroys.

Be Ready for Monday by Humbling Yourself: A Message from James

James 4:1-10

What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.

You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. Or do you think Scripture says without reason that he jealously longs for the spirit he has caused to dwell in us? But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says:

“God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

Being a scientist who believes in a literal Genesis account of creation today is like being a Christian in Nero’s Rome

But like the Christian’s of Nero’s Rome, there are some who refuse to recant and instead march forward. Here’s an article about them Harvard Trained Scientists Set to Prove Creation

What’s in a Name? Malevolent Tide’s Character Names Have Meaning – Kael Baykok

Baykok was chosen as the name of the evil ecoterrorist because it is actually the name of a demonic spirit in the native American Ojibwe Nation tradition. Kael was created by combining Kill and Hell.

#RobinWilliams reminded us that life without levity is not living

Robin Williams also reminded us that no amount of success, fame, or fortune can save us from death or even depression.

Whether it was suicide or accident, we lost a genius. I don’t know his personal life or what went on inside his head, or even his inner spiritual beliefs. We all suffer from depression from time to time, but for some it is a never-ending battle related to brain chemistry that requires medicine, for some it’s psychological and counselors can help, for some it’s spiritual and studying the Bible and praying can help.

Some people think mental illness is a will power issue. But it’s not that different from back pain. Back pain can have many different causes and remedies can vary from changing how you sit to physical therapy, to surgery, to counseling on pain management. But simple “mind over matter” will power is not a highly successful method of treatment for physical or mental illness.

For followers of Christ, we are reminded that our value is not based on what we think of ourselves or what others think of us. It is based on the price that was paid for us. Each one of us is worth the life of the one and only perfect man, Yeshua, the one and only son of the Living God.

For those who are not followers of Christ, Yeshua laid down his life and then took it up again to demonstrate that if you believe in him you are not believing in a fairy tale. Rather, you are believing in Truth and have the assurance that death has lost its sting. Give him a 30-day challenge – read the Book of John and Romans and listen only to a contemporary Christian Radio (91.7 The Promise) station for 30 days.

Obey God – Take care of yourself and love yourself, so that you can care for and love your neighbor as yourself. The Holy Spirit inspried Paul to write: 1 Cor. 6:19-20 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.

Union of Concerned Scientists Trying to Curb CNN’s Coverage of Climate Science Debate

CNN is fanning the flames of the climate science debate because they either sincerely think there are some uncertainties that merit debate or they feel that playing up the controversy will draw viewers. That said, the climate change believers (which include the Union of Concerned Scientists) are trying to shame people into accepting climate change by calling them climate change deniers and requesting that global news organizations only report what UCS deems acceptable (see UCS’s Urge CNN to Debate Climate Policy, Not Climate Science). Censoring ideas or debates never work unless a nation instills martial law and begins persecution of those who think different.

Most people accept that we had an ice age and that now we are in a much warmer period so it’s not climate change they are denying as much as they reject the gloom and doom predictions which do require significant extrapolations beyond known data. Science that requires a lot of modeling and assumptions will always be open for debate because all inferences involve observational data and correlational analyses – which is not the same as causation.

I’m sure the Union of Concerned Scientists would have banished Einstein for thinking he could add to Newton’s Physics. It’s poor form for UCS to think that a petition or a letter from a bunch of scientists would dissuade a global news organization from pursuring their freedom of speech and expression, especially when there is an opposing side who will write their own research with their own PhDs backing it. And lets not forget Climate Gate 1 and 2 and the millions and millions of dollars that are going to research organizations who at this point cannot afford to publish anything that refutes climate change for fear it would be their last grant.

God’s initial plan for Adam was to tend the garden, to name the animals, to care for what he had been given. If we believe in God and want to be obedient, we should follow all of his instructions to the best of our ability. He commands us to love him and our neighbor as ourselves. We all need to do what is best for our neighbor and that means taking care of the earth which God has created and allowed us to borrow from our children. For God’s glory and our children’s sake we should take good care of it. That’s the message in my humble opinion.

Is There a Biblical Case for Climate Change?

Climate change has been occurring since Adam sinned and it catastrophically accelerated after Noah’s flood. Our culture has been indoctrinated and brainwashed into believing that changes in geography, geology, and climate occur slowly over eons because we are told up front it has to be that way because the earth has to be billions of years old. Those ‘has-to-be’s” are actually unprovable, arbitrary assumptions because we see more and more how powerful weather events, eruptions, and tsunamis can instantaneously change coastlines and landscapes. If the earth is 10,000 years or so old then the periods of rapid change split between years of stability (which is how earthquakes work) strongly support the possibility that we are going through a period of rapid climate change and that it is natural and irreversible unless we have the technology to modify the weather or use the ocean as a giant HVAC unit. As with the author of this blog posted below, I’m also a Christian who doesn’t categorically deny accelerated climate change. I simply think it comports with everything the Bible teaches about the times we are in and the events to come.

Planet in Distress

The ongoing discussion (if it can be called that) on climate change is almost entirely political.  Or at least, it is here in the US.  This means that most people, instead of evaluating perspectives and theories and data, make up their mind in accordance with their political beliefs and ignore or dismiss information that runs counter to their political perspective.  Worse than that and consistent with a political discussion, tribalism is an ingrained part of the exchange and thus insults and twisted information are mostly what the two sides trade.  The entire situation is disappointing.

Happily, I do not offer any political discussion on climate change.  Instead, I want to explore what the Bible says about climate change (or global warming or whatever) being a part of the end-times.  We will also look at what the Bible doesn’t  say on the subject, which is just as important.  Before we dive in…
