My wife’s dear friend, Colleen, brought this verse to her the other day. Today is the day of my wife’s surgery (double mastectomy) to rid her of cancer. She and I have read Psalm 91 out loud and silently over the last couple of days. Colleen told us a story she’d heard about how during WWI, soldiers who’d studied this verse daily made it through the war unscathed.
I did some quick searching on the internet and found a book devoted to this verse and the miracles associated with it, including the story Colleen shared. God’s word is true and can be trusted. The key is our faith and willingness to humble ourselves and surrender to the will of God. Psalm 91 has given us peace and strength and I hope this verse gives you hope in facing your battles. Know that when you surrender to Christ, your battles become his battles and He will carry you and your burdens.
